The Second Mindanao Bloggers Summit will be hosted by General Santos City on October 25, 2008. This event will be held in time with the City Government and DTI's E-Business Week and spearheaded by the organizing team of Avel Manansala of Bariles Republic . All Bloggers in Mindanao and all over the country are invited to convene on the said summit for one great eyeball meeting and a bloggers' conference.The theme will be "Mindanawan: Paminawon Intawon. Blogging the Mindanao Consciousness." The summit's end in view are:
- To strengthen the unity among blogers in their drive to accentuate the untapped potentialities of Mindanao,
- To encourage bloggers to become more enthusiastic about the Mindanao consciousness,
- To utilize maximum potential of new media, and
- To foster the entrepreneurial spirit of Mindanawans through blogging.
As proposed on the first meeting of the organizing team, a pre-summit Blog Seminar (hopefully) in Notre Dame of Dadiangas University will be organized to gather bloggers, interested bloggers, and non-bloggers of different university and schools. The Blog Entry Writing Contest will also be launched on the same date and to be awarded during the MBS2.
