There are only quite a few active blogggers in General Santos City though there are a number of personal bloggers who exist on social networks such as Friendster, Multiply, MySpace or Imeem. However, not many of these people, bloggers or not, have a clear picture of blogging.
With regards to this, a Blog Seminar will conducted at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University on September 20, 2008 to unravel the potentialities in blogging. Spearheaded by the SoCCKSarGen Bloggers Convenors' Collective and a partnership with NDDU's Voice Publication, this seminar will introduce blogging to students and as well as interested parties the blogging basics and social entrepreneurship.
Basically, the seminar would render tips from experienced bloggers on blog enhancing, increasing traffic, earning revenues, and making a difference through blogs. Speakers include a Gensan blogger who was awarded the 2008 Emerging Influential Blogs, a speaker from the Philippine Blogging Summit 4, a once-journalist of an Asian publication, and a professional web designer, among others.
This activity is a pre-summit seminar in preparation for the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 2, to be held in General Santos City. On the same date will also be the launching of the Blog Writing Contest for the MBS2.

@ Joanna: Yes and No. Once we've already booked the venue for that date, then it'll be final. The date would have to change if our venue wouldn't be available (which I pray would not happen - it'll make things complicated due to the availability of our speakers). Anyways, do update the rest n___n

This is good news to Gensan bloggers :) Many people in Gensan do not have any clue as to the benefits one can have from blogging. I try to convince my officemates about starting a blog and earning from it but they do not believe me. They live in a blissful world of ignorance while I live in a blissful world of blogging income. he he he
